Functional Organization:
The Lucas Laboratory will consist of a Director and Faculty, Technical Staff and an Advisory Committee. At present there are faculty and technical staff employed by the Forest Products Department who would pursue the Lucas Laboratory's objectives. Other researchers at the FWRC and MSU would be invited to actively participate in and cooperate with the Laboratory toward pursuing the stated objectives and pursuing additional funding opportunities. Industry Consortiums have been proposed for the Laboratory. Membership will be open to Forest Products industry personnel that have a vested interest in wood preservation, wood property enhancement and bio-industrial processes. Consortium members will advise the Lucas Laboratory on priorities and goals, participate in research activities, and receive priority access to services of the Lucas Laboratory.
