Gulf of Mexico Research

The Gulf of Mexico is the 7th largest economy in the world, and as such as provides significant contributions to industry, ecology and economy of the region. USDA-Agricultural Research Service

The Water Quality and Ecology unit at the National Sedimentation Laboratory is involved with assessing wetland function and ability of constructed wetlands to mitigate pollutants such as nutrients and pesticides. Strong collaborative links are with Matthew Moore, Richard Lizotte, Doug Shields and Martin Locke all research scientists with the USDA-ARS.
